Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a Cloud Engineer responsible for architecting, deploying, and fine-tuning containerized workloads and cloud-native services on leading public cloud platforms. The role involves utilizing container orchestration, infrastructure as code, and automation tools to develop secure, reliable, and cost-effective platforms supporting business applications. This position follows a hybrid working model and includes rotational shift responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design scalable and highly available cloud architectures employing compute services, managed databases, and container orchestration to support business applications in a hybrid environment.
- Implement containerized solutions using container platforms and registries ensuring consistent build, packaging, and deployment of microservices across multiple environments.
- Create and manage infrastructure as code definitions to provision and maintain cloud resources in an auditable, repeatable, and version-controlled fashion.
- Configure and optimize content delivery networks and load balancing to enhance application performance, resilience, and user experience globally.
- Build and administer container orchestration clusters ensuring efficient scheduling, resource usage, and seamless service discovery for microservice architectures.
- Establish and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment phases for applications and infrastructure.
- Configure and manage managed relational database services focusing on security, resilience, and high performance for transactional and analytical workloads.
- Develop automation scripts using scripting and programming languages to reduce manual efforts, boost reliability, and enforce configuration standards across environments.
- Use monitoring and advisory tools to identify bottlenecks, optimize costs, detect security gaps, and collaborate with teams for timely remediation.
- Manage managed machine learning services to facilitate model training, deployment, and monitoring for data-driven products adding value to customers and society.
- Implement stringent security measures using identity and access management, network configurations, and logging to ensure data protection and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with application, operations, and security teams to understand needs, design effective solutions, and guarantee seamless deployments without business disruptions.
- Provide rotational shift support for both production and non-production environments by resolving incidents, conducting root cause analyses, and initiating preventive actions.
Qualifications
- Four to six years of hands-on experience as a cloud engineer or in a similar position with solid expertise in containerized applications and managed cloud services.
- Strong proficiency with container technologies and registries, including experience building, tagging, scanning, and deploying production images.
- Practical knowledge of compute services, container platforms, and orchestration services covering cluster configuration, node groups, and networking.
- Understanding of managed relational database services including backup methods, parameter tuning, connectivity design, and fundamental query optimization.
- Experience with content delivery networks and load balancing focusing on caching, distribution techniques, and secure endpoint setups.
- Expertise in infrastructure as code using popular tools for managing cloud resources, modules, state, and integration with version control systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages and Python for automation related to provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, integration, and operations.
- Experience with continuous delivery tools and pipelines including artifact repository integration, approval workflows, and container deployment strategies.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, cost control measures, resilience, and governance via advisory tools and monitoring platforms.
- Prior exposure to IT operations environments including incident and change management along with adherence to service levels is preferred.
- Excellent communication with cross-functional teams, documenting solutions meticulously, adhering to standardized processes, and contributing to ongoing improvements.
- Mentality focused on platform reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and alignment with business objectives benefiting customers and society at large.
