Role Overview

As a valued member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Clinical Support Worker will assist registered nurses by carrying out care duties for patients, often working independently. Responsibilities focus on maintaining hygiene, order, and safety within the ward environment and adapting to variations depending on the ward and patient dependency levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assigned patient care tasks under nurse supervision, ensuring quality patient treatment.
• Assist in preparing patients for medical procedures.
• Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Help collect routine urine and blood samples.
• Manage and order ward supplies and perform housekeeping to support patient care.
• Provide escort services as needed.
• Measure patient vital signs and communicate results to nursing staff.
• Support patient mobility improvements as part of rehabilitation, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
• Observe and report changes in patients’ physical and psychological conditions while maintaining accurate records for effective communication.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• SVQ III in healthcare or equivalent experience in similar caregiving roles; candidates working towards SVQ III are also welcomed.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work well with individuals and within multidisciplinary or agency teams.
• Competent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Efficiency in executing assigned patient care activities in fast-paced environments.
• Possession of a valid full UK/EU/EEA driving license.
