About the Role

Aramark Canada is seeking a seasoned Cleaning Manager to oversee housekeeping and laundry operations at Inuvik Regional Hospital in the Northwest Territories. The successful candidate will directly report to the Site Manager and lead a dedicated team committed to providing a safe, sanitary, and welcoming atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design daily work schedules across all facility areas and assign tasks to the custodial team, ensuring task completion.
  • Supervise housekeeping attendants during shifts, ensuring compliance with departmental cleaning, infection control, and service standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by rigorously following health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state/local guidelines, and Aramark-specific regulations.
  • Conduct orientation and ongoing training for new staff to familiarize them with their duties.
  • Maintain and clean housekeeping equipment properly.
  • Support staff management activities, including hiring, engagement, disciplinary actions, and terminations, in coordination with the Site Manager.
  • Uphold the departmental Quality Assurance program standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend cleaning products and equipment for purchase and appropriate use.
  • Manage trash storage, disposal, and transportation to designated areas as per procedure.
  • Report maintenance issues through work orders to relevant teams.
  • Ensure the security of the facility by locking and unlocking buildings as needed, and safeguard company assets.
  • Perform regular audits and manage housekeeping inventory.
  • Carry out additional duties assigned by the Site Manager.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of combined experience in housekeeping, custodial, environmental services, laundry operations, or related fields with leadership roles.
  • Proven experience supervising teams in housekeeping or related services.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, organizational skills, and effective problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
