Job description
Role Overview
The position is for a Chief Specialist within the Construction, Standardization, and Occupational Safety Department at SOCAR Georgia Gas, located in Tbilisi, Georgia. This role covers two related specializations: Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management. The successful candidate will oversee legislatively mandated occupational safety documentation, monitor accuracy and compliance of documentation across regional offices, conduct risk assessments relevant to the company's operational activities, lead and supervise training sessions including safety briefings and fire drills, and ensure adherence to health and safety norms via procedural oversight.
Occupational Safety Responsibilities
- Create and maintain legally required occupational health and safety documentation.
- Monitor and verify safety-related documentation prepared by regional office staff for accuracy and compliance.
- Assess operational risks linked to occupational safety across all company sites including headquarters and regional branches.
- Organize, oversee, and conduct safety training, instructions, and fire simulation drills.
- Ensure enforcement of health and safety procedures, instructions, and regulations through monitoring activities.
Environmental Management Responsibilities
- Update the company's agreed waste management plan every three years.
- Oversee compliance with Georgian legislation regarding waste management.
- Supervise waste prevention and recovery actions in company operational regions, with particular attention to hazardous waste.
- Monitor temporary storage methods and conditions of waste in regional areas, ensuring prevention of mixing and overflow.
- Control information about organizations handling the final treatment of waste generated.
- Maintain detailed records of types and quantities of waste generated using a waste logbook.
- Coordinate and control timely removal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste by authorized organizations within company operational areas.
Qualifications and Experience
- A university degree is required.
- Certification as an Occupational Safety Specialist or Environmental Management Specialist, depending on focus.
- At least two years of related work experience.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office.
- Fluency in Georgian and knowledge of Russian or English.

Working Conditions
