Checkout Operator

About the Role

The Checkout Operator will be responsible for ensuring smooth and effective operations within the Checkout Department, delivering exceptional service to customers at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the Centra brand values by being proud, energetic, imaginative, and community-focused.
• Operate computerized till systems with barcode scanners efficiently.
• Weigh and price items such as fruits and vegetables accurately.
• Verify customers' ages for age-restricted products like alcohol.
• Package customers' purchases carefully and efficiently.
• Handle coupons and vouchers during transactions.
• Manage payments and ensure the till balances correctly at the end of each shift.
• Contribute by stocking shelves and checking inventory when away from the till.
• Maintain high standards in merchandising and presentation of the department.
• Participate actively in team meetings and apply learnings to improve performance.

Candidate Requirements

• Preferably two years of retail experience.
• Competency in balancing tills on a daily basis.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Customer-focused with the ability to prioritize customer needs effectively.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility.
• Ability to work proactively on own initiative and collaborate within a fast-paced team environment.

Location: Coolagh Road, Abbeyside, Dungarvan, County Waterford, Ireland.

Contract Type: Full time, onsite position.
