Role Overview

The Checker acts as the final quality gate prior to workshop release. Every Tekla Structures model and the corresponding drawing set undergo self-inspection by the creator, followed by an independent verification by the Checker. No documents are sent to fabricators without the Checker's authorization. As automation handles more routine tasks, the Checker's role in critical evaluation grows more vital.

Primary Duties

• Verify Tekla Structures models and drawings against original designs, client standards, and documented quality management system (QMS) checklists.
• Inspect connections, fit-up, bolting, welding symbols, marks, quantities, and material take-offs.
• Provide clear mark-ups and rationale when returning work for revision instead of mere annotations.
• Authorize drawing sets for issue, accepting full responsibility for this decision.
• Continuously improve internal procedures and contribute feedback for automated validation tools to prevent recurrent errors.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in structural steel detailing with Tekla Structures, including several years dedicated to reviewing others' work.
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection processes, and workshop operations interpreting drawings.
• Familiarity with industry standards and client expectations in Australia, USA, UK, or Middle East regions.
• Proficient English in both written and spoken forms; ability to compose clear mark-ups and professional client communications.
• Assertive and meticulous temperament to reject drawings that do not meet quality criteria, even if nearly correct.

Working Environment

All drawings undergo a two-step checking process: creator self-check followed by the Checker’s independent review before issuance. Operations follow strict written procedures aligned with the company’s QMS. Employees are encouraged to utilize and critique the company’s evolving tools and report any flaws or improvements.

Location and Working Hours

This is a full-time position based onsite at the Trichy office, handling projects for international clients located in Australia, USA, UK, and the Middle East.
