Job description
Overview
The Central Control Room (CCR) Operator at Dangote Petroleum & Petrochemicals is tasked with overseeing and managing plant operations from the central control room. This includes monitoring equipment such as kilns, raw mills, cement mills, and coal mills to ensure smooth and accurate production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise multiple sections of the production line through the CCR, guaranteeing adherence to quality and operational standards in cement manufacturing.
- Communicate operational updates and direct patrollers and production line operators, collaborating closely with shift coordinators.
- Support the execution of Dangote Industries Limited's approved production plans.
- Maintain control over plant process lines to secure consistent equipment performance, uphold safety protocols, and comply with environmental regulations.
- Record process data at designated intervals and produce detailed operational reports.
- Ensure efficient functioning of crushers, raw mills, kilns, and cement mills by continuously providing feedback and guidance to shift coordinators, engineers, patrollers, and operators.
- Alert personnel about system failures or risks and recommend solutions collaboratively or independently when urgent intervention is required to minimize downtime.
- Regularly assess plant automation systems and propose enhancements aligned with industry best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive, clearly structured documentation of operational activities.
- Oversee casual workers ensuring all conveyor belts remain clean and free from jams.
- Achieve production targets for cement and clinker during shifts.
- Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by section heads or heads of department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in a similar operational role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail.
- Capability to work effectively under challenging conditions.
