Job description
Overview
We seek a skilled CCTV Technician based in Bangalore responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various electronic security systems including CCTV cameras. This role requires hands-on technical expertise with both IP and analog surveillance systems and involves direct site visits for installation and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and configure both IP and Analog CCTV cameras accurately.
- Install and program DVR and NVR surveillance systems.
- Carry out cabling, wiring, termination, and testing of CCTV systems effectively.
- Configure IP cameras with network setup including TCP/IP fundamentals.
- Diagnose and fix issues related to cameras, recording devices, power supplies, and connectivity.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and respond to breakdown services promptly.
- Travel to client locations to carry out installation and repair works.
- Document installation and service activities comprehensively.
- Collaborate closely with Service Coordinator and Operations Manager to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide customers with elementary training to operate CCTV systems.
- Address technical complaints ensuring resolution within stipulated timeframes.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or ITI certification in Electronics, Electrical, IT, or related technical disciplines; equivalents with relevant experience considered.
- Between 1 to 3 years of practical experience in CCTV installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Experience working with brands like CP Plus, Hikvision, Dahua or similar products is preferred.
- Proficient in IP and Analog CCTV system setup and maintenance.
- Knowledgeable in DVR/NVR configuration and basic networking concepts including LAN, Switches, Routers, and Power over Ethernet (PoE).
- Capable of CAT6 cable laying and RJ45 terminations.
- Understanding of camera alignment and testing procedures.
- Basic familiarity with Access Control and Biometric Systems is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of Fire Alarm Systems is a plus.
Additional Requirements and Attributes
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle customers professionally.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to various customer and project sites as required.
- Possession of a two-wheeler and a valid driving license is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
