Job description

Position Overview

The CCR Operator plays a vital role in overseeing the cement manufacturing process from the Central Control Room. This role involves monitoring multiple stages of production to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards for quality, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor all production line sections from the CCR to maintain precise control over the cement production process.
  • Communicate operational information and provide guidance to patrollers and production line operators, coordinating closely with shift supervisors.
  • Support the execution of Dangote Cement Plc.'s approved production plans and targets.
  • Manage plant process lines ensuring stable equipment functionality, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Record process data at regular intervals and document operational activities accurately in reports.
  • Facilitate smooth operation of crushers, raw mills, kilns, and cement mills by offering consistent feedback and direction to field personnel including engineers and coordinators.
  • Notify relevant personnel about equipment failures, potential issues, or areas requiring attention and guide troubleshooting efforts.
  • Diagnose and address operating problems autonomously when immediate intervention is required, coordinating with technical leaders when necessary.
  • Continuously assess the plant’s automation systems and propose improvement measures based on best practices in the field.
  • Prepare comprehensive, clear reports on operational activities and incidents during shifts.
  • Oversee casual staff ensuring conveyor belts are regularly cleaned and free from blockages.
  • Work diligently to achieve cement and clinker production objectives for assigned shifts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Section Head or Head of Department.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Processing Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in a similar capacity within the cement or an equivalent heavy manufacturing industry.
