Job description
Overview
Caher associates serve a vital role delivering quick, courteous, accurate, and secure customer service. Their duties involve processing checkout and return transactions and overseeing the self-checkout stations. Cashiers actively gather knowledge about products and projects to assist customers and suggest sales opportunities while strictly adhering to all procedures aimed at reducing inventory shrinkage.
A Head Cashier supervises cashier positioning, facilitates prompt price verification, authorizes point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various service areas including main registers, self-checkout, returns, Pro Desk, special services, and tool rentals. They act as the first point of escalation for customer concerns and contribute to the leadership, mentoring, and education of front-end staff by training new cashiers and employing coaching tools to nurture team development.
Additional Information
The ideal candidate for the Head Cashier role possesses at least one year of prior cashier experience.
