About the Role
This pivotal position at NTU supports the Education 2025 vision by helping shape students into graduates equipped for future challenges. Serving as both Career Coach and Career Business Partner to academic units, the role focuses on guiding undergraduates and postgraduates through personal discovery, career exploration, and professional growth, aligning with their aspirations and employability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group career coaching sessions tailored to student needs.
- Assist students in identifying their career interests, strengths, and values.
- Utilize self-assessment and career profiling instruments to enhance student self-awareness.
- Guide students through early-stage career planning throughout their tenure at NTU.
- Provide information and resources on job search tactics, CV/resume crafting, interview preparation, industry skill frameworks, and relevant workshops.
- Lead mandatory sessions involving resume critique and mock interview coaching for small groups.
- Support students in internship placement and employment search strategies.
- Engage with students, student organizations, and faculty on career awareness and preparation topics.
- Design and tailor school-specific career initiatives such as industry talks, alumni sharing, and specialized workshops to bolster employability.
- Serve as the Career point of contact and collaborator with school leadership on career-related matters.
- Participate in school outreach events including Career Day.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of an accredited degree and 9 to 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in career coaching, counseling, career services, graduate recruitment, human resources, executive search, or learning and development.
- Ability to act as a change agent, proactively proposing new initiatives to enhance career services and student engagement at the college level.
- Holder of relevant career coaching certifications.
- Certified in administering self-assessment and career profiling tools.
- Proven expertise in coaching young adults effectively with strong engagement skills.
- Familiarity with conventional and technology-driven, including AI-enhanced, career coaching methodologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry trends, workplace environments, and employer requirements.
- Highly self-motivated, demonstrating strong initiative geared toward student career advancement.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience conducting career-related workshops and presentations.
- Strong active listening, critical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with superior organizational and administrative skills.
- Effective teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
