About the Role
Located at the Osborne Naval Shipyard in Adelaide, the Capacity Planner plays a key role in managing and directing capacity planning activities to fulfill contract and company goals. This role involves collaboration with project teams to ensure balanced planning within defined scopes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the consistency and accuracy of capacity planning data, reports, and analyses in planning systems, ensuring timely accessibility for the business.
- Assist in assessing facility capacity and scheduling across strategic business scenarios for both internal and external clients within the designated scope.
- Monitor key manufacturing processes to identify capacity constraints and propose improvements or investment opportunities.
- Document and maintain differences in facility and build strategies across contracts and related assumptions.
- Provide data-driven input to develop build strategies that optimize project schedules and cost outcomes.
- Promote continuous improvement and facilitate the sharing of lessons learned facility-wide.
- Support the Lifecycle Management process by delivering relevant capacity planning documentation for design and phase reviews.
Candidate Profile
- Must be an Australian citizen eligible to obtain and uphold a Defence Security Clearance.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in capacity planning, scheduling, or production planning roles across projects ranging from basic to complex, preferably within heavy engineering sectors or equivalent qualifications or trade experience.
- Knowledgeable in engineering, supply chain, and operations principles and workflows.
- Understanding of quality assurance and configuration control procedures.
- Holding a trade qualification or significant practical experience in engineering or manufacturing settings.
