Job description
Job Overview
This role involves the prompt and courteous pick-up and delivery of packages along assigned routes while ensuring shipments comply with FedEx Canada service standards. The incumbent will also provide customer service support related to courier operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently deliver and pick up packages following assigned routes.
- Verify shipments meet FedEx Canada service requirements.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and handle related service functions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement.
- Valid full Class G driver's license (G2 is not accepted) with a clean driving record (no more than two infractions or accidents in the past 24 months).
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and manipulate packages up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment.
- Minimum of one year customer-focused business experience preferred.
- Successful completion of mandatory pre-placement driver assessment training with required minimum scores.
- Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to cope with stress and perform well in fast-paced environments.
- Flexibility to work different schedules, including holidays, as business requires.
- Comfort with operating Freightliner P1000 vehicles.
Additional Details
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
- Location: Barrie (YBNA), Ontario, Canada.
- Starting wage: $23.28 per hour (this rate may not apply to current internal employees).
- Applicants must be bilingual (French and English) if located in Quebec.
- Employment involves working within Windows environments and fulfilling ongoing training and certification requirements.
