About the Role

As a Cafe Team Member, you will engage actively with food preparation, customer service, and maintaining an impeccable environment. Your role ensures that every dish meets our high standards and adheres to safety regulations. You'll also be responsible for tidiness in both kitchen areas and customer spaces.

This position involves engaging tasks in a lively setting, offering flexible scheduling options and opportunities to progress within the company. All team members are guaranteed a minimum of 8 hours per week, with shifts scheduled within designated availability windows and communicated at least three weeks ahead. If your availability closely aligns with our requested hours, we encourage you to apply. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Serve customers promptly, efficiently, and with attentiveness.
• Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene guidelines, including accurate daily recordkeeping.
• Implement first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to ensure food freshness.
• Handle receipt of deliveries and ensure safe food storage practices.
• Follow all operational policies and procedures diligently.
• Prepare, cook, and serve items according to the café menu standards.
• Maintain product availability and uphold service quality.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu to serve food accurately as intended.
• Address customer complaints appropriately and escalate to the Café Manager when necessary.
• Stay informed about company communications and initiatives.
• Clear and sanitize tables to maintain café cleanliness throughout operating hours.

Requirements

• A strong dedication to hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service.
• Familiarity with health and safety standards relevant to food service environments.
• Capability to operate efficiently while maintaining a clean workspace.
• Comfortable working collaboratively within a team setting.
• Excellent communication skills paired with a proactive mindset.
• Ability to multitask and manage pressure effectively in a busy environment.
• Confidence to independently identify and implement improvements in work processes.
• Good organizational skills and effective planning abilities.

• Previous kitchen or cooking experience is mandatory.
