About the Role
Our client is a reputable electrical infrastructure contractor providing essential services across transmission, distribution, generation, and industrial sectors throughout New Zealand. Due to ongoing growth and a solid project pipeline, they are seeking a skilled Cable Jointer to join their workforce.
Responsibilities
- Install, joint, and terminate underground power cables with precision and safety.
- Perform testing, troubleshoot faults, and carry out commissioning processes.
- Collaborate on projects in diverse environments such as distribution, transmission, generation, and industrial sectors.
- Maintain stringent health, safety, and quality standards on site.
- Contribute to smooth project delivery while meeting client expectations.
- Offer technical assistance and mentorship to apprentices and other field personnel.
- Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- Identify site hazards and opportunities for process improvements.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years' experience working as a Cable Jointer.
- Possession of a current EWRB Practising Licence with competencies relevant to cable jointing.
- Experience within power distribution, transmission, generation, or industrial sectors.
- Strong technical acumen coupled with effective troubleshooting abilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of safe work procedures and PCBU responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- A proactive, safety-first mindset.
- A valid full Class 1 Driver Licence.
