Position Summary
The Business Development Representative will play an essential part of Finmo's go-to-market sales team by serving as the initial contact with prospective clients. The role focuses on identifying promising opportunities, qualifying prospects, and enabling Account Executives to succeed globally within both SME and enterprise sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify ideal customer profiles and relevant stakeholders in Finance, Operations, and Treasury departments through thorough research.
- Conduct targeted outreach using cold calls, LinkedIn, and customized email campaigns, incorporating relevant contextual information like funding milestones or market expansions to increase engagement.
- Lead structured discovery conversations to understand prospect challenges and evaluate product suitability.
- Apply qualification methodologies such as MEDDIC to ensure only high-quality leads are forwarded to Account Executives.
- Convert marketing-qualified leads to sales-qualified leads, aligning with pipeline goals.
- Collaborate with Account Executives and Solutions Engineers to enhance messaging and positioning.
- Maintain precise and current data in HubSpot CRM, tracking and reporting key pipeline metrics.
- Contribute to internal resources by developing and updating playbooks and training materials to support newer Sales Development Representatives.
- Assist with recruitment of SDR team members as needed.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Between 1 and 2 years in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles, ideally within B2B SaaS or fintech sectors.
- Proven experience or demonstrated capability in outbound prospecting and pipeline development, including via internships or junior roles.
- Experience teaming with Account Executives or within structured GTM sales organizations is beneficial.
- Preferably holds a degree in any field, though candidates showing equivalent commercial skills and enthusiasm for fintech and B2B sales may be considered.
- Additional formal sales certifications (e.g., MEDDIC, Sandler, HubSpot Sales Certification) are advantageous but not mandatory.
Technical Proficiencies
- Skilled in CRM platforms with strong preference for HubSpot, capable of maintaining organized pipelines and generating activity reports.
- Familiar with sales engagement tools like Outreach or SalesLoft for managing multi-touch outreach sequences.
- Experienced with LinkedIn Sales Navigator for conducting research, mapping accounts, and social selling activities.
- Basic knowledge or keen interest in fintech, payments, or treasury systems; deep expertise not required but willingness to learn quickly is essential.
