Business Development Manager - Upwork

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager focused on securing business via Upwork and similar freelancing platforms. This on-site role is based in Mohali and requires a minimum of four years' professional experience. The successful candidate will excel at identifying high-quality project leads, crafting personalized proposals, engaging with overseas clients, and converting these opportunities into sustained client partnerships.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify and source appropriate projects on Upwork.
• Develop tailored and persuasive proposals for potential clients.
• Understand clients' project requirements and liaise with the technical team.
• Engage in communication with international clients through Upwork messaging and meetings.
• Negotiate aspects such as project scope, pricing, and delivery timelines.
• Follow up with prospects to enhance conversion rates.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and prepare daily bidding performance reports.
• Meet monthly targets related to lead generation and revenue.
• Establish and nurture long-term client relations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Between one to three years of experience bidding on Upwork.
• Proficient written and spoken English skills.
• Strong abilities in proposal writing and negotiation.
• Basic knowledge of IT services including web development, mobile applications, AI/ML, blockchain, UI/UX, and digital marketing.
• Experience in utilizing CRM systems or Excel for tracking leads.
• Self-driven with a focus on targets and capable of working independently.

Preferred Background

• A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
• Experience working with international clients.
• Familiarity with other freelancing platforms such as Freelancer, Fiverr, Guru, or PeoplePerHour is beneficial.
