Business Development Manager – Aviation Technical Services

About the Role

Compass Aviation Group is looking for an experienced Business Development or Sales Manager to drive the expansion of our aviation technical services sector. This position primarily targets the aircraft leasing and airline markets. Ideal candidates will possess established industry contacts and an in-depth understanding of the sector, enabling them to identify and convert new business prospects.

The selected individual will collaborate closely with senior management and technical teams to nurture current partnerships, initiate new accounts, and position Compass as a leader in aircraft transition, technical support, and asset management services. The role is Ireland-based with a hybrid work model and involves frequent travel for client engagements and industry events.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities with aircraft lessors, airlines, and other aviation asset holders.
• Leverage and build upon pre-existing industry relationships to create qualified sales leads.
• Establish connections with decision-makers in technical, asset management, fleet, procurement, and commercial departments.
• Spot forthcoming aircraft-related activities including transitions, lease returns, deliveries, acquisitions, and sales where Compass can offer technical support.
• Maintain and enhance existing client relations while seeking avenues to broaden service offerings.
• Draft proposals, commercial replies, and pricing strategies alongside relevant internal teams.
• Oversee sales opportunities from initial outreach through to contract awarding.
• Keep accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and pipeline data using the company CRM system.
• Coordinate with operational teams to ensure scopes are commercially viable and deliverable.
• Represent Compass Aviation Group at client meetings, conferences, and industry trade events.
• Provide insights into client needs, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities.

Experience & Skills Required

• Proven business development or sales experience within the commercial aviation industry—this is not an entry-level role.
• Existing network within aircraft leasing and/or airline sectors.
• Strong familiarity with the aircraft leasing market and lifecycle of commercial aircraft.
• Experience marketing aviation technical services such as asset management, MRO, or aircraft transition is highly advantageous.
• A demonstrated track record of successfully generating opportunities and converting them into revenue.
• Confidence and expertise to engage with senior stakeholders at lessors and airlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to work autonomously while managing a diverse international clientele.
• Proficiency in CRM platforms and maintaining robust sales pipelines.

Working Conditions & Eligibility

This role is Ireland-based on a hybrid model with expectations for regular national and international travel for client meetings, projects, and industry conferences. Candidates must have the legal authorization to live and work within Ireland.
