Role Overview
The Business Development Executive (BDE) will play a vital role in driving sales growth within the EdTech sector by managing lead generation, student counselling, sales conversion, follow-up activities, and maintaining customer relationships. The role requires managing the full sales cycle, from identifying prospects to closing enrollments and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a seamless experience for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new leads using multiple channels including calls, WhatsApp, email, social media, referrals, and online campaigns, handling both inbound and outbound inquiries.
- Identify suitable students by assessing their eligibility and aligning course options with their career aspirations.
- Conduct in-depth student counselling to explain course details such as curriculum, projects, certifications, duration, fees, and career benefits.
- Recommend appropriate courses or programs tailored to individual student needs and conduct demos or orientation sessions when necessary.
- Convert qualified prospects into paid enrollments with effective objection handling related to costs, course value, timing, and competition; negotiate pricing within authorized limits.
- Achieve set daily, weekly, and monthly enrollment and revenue targets.
- Keep consistent follow-ups via calls, WhatsApp, and emails, ensuring no prospect is overlooked; revive inactive or lost leads through structured follow-up schedules.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all interactions, lead statuses, and activities in the CRM system, including tracking calls, meetings, payments, and sales metrics.
- Develop strong relationships with prospective and enrolled students, liaise with academic teams for query resolution, and facilitate smooth transitions from lead generation to enrollment and payment processing.
- Gather feedback from students and identify potential upselling and referral opportunities.
- Conduct market and competitor research to remain informed about competing courses, pricing trends, and evolving student demands; report findings to the sales and management teams.
Performance Targets (KPIs)
- Make between 50 to 100 calls daily.
- Engage in 15 to 30 qualified conversations per day.
- Conduct 5 to 15 counselling sessions daily.
- Follow up with 30 to 50 leads daily.
- Maintain a conversion rate of 10% to 25% or higher.
- Meet monthly revenue targets ranging from ₹300,000 to over ₹1,000,000.
- Ensure 100% CRM update accuracy.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Possesses 0 to 3 years of experience in EdTech, inside sales, or B2C sales roles.
- Exhibits strong communication and persuasive skills.
- Comfortable making 50 or more calls each day.
- Communicates effectively in English as well as a regional language.
- Is goal-driven and persistent in achieving targets.
- Has fundamental familiarity with CRM systems, Excel or Google Sheets, and WhatsApp.
- Demonstrates the ability to manage and overcome sales objections.
- Passionate about education, technology, and supporting career growth.
Process Flow
The sales process involves a structured journey starting with lead generation, initial contact, qualification, counselling, product demonstration or orientation, follow-ups, objection management, payment processing, enrollment, and referral generation.
Compensation
The position offers a monthly salary in the range of ₹15,000 to ₹40,000.
