About the Role
We are partnering with a rapidly expanding payments infrastructure startup to fill the position of Business Development Associate. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Singapore, featuring an annual base salary of approximately SGD 60,000 to 66,000. The primary mission is to support the company’s strategic initiative to broaden payment corridors across Southeast Asia by leading new partnership development from inception to live deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage prospective partners within Southeast Asia to expand payment corridors.
- Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations and finalize partnership agreements.
- Conduct due diligence, oversee onboarding procedures, and coordinate contractual logistics.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams—such as Sales, Client Experience, Legal, and Finance—to ensure seamless execution of corridor launches.
- Maintain up-to-date market intelligence and monitor competitive landscape developments.
- Track partnership pipeline, provide progress reports, and align stakeholders at various levels.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Approximately five years of experience in payments, fintech, or financial services, focusing on client servicing, onboarding, or business development.
- Excellent relationship-building capabilities with the ability to conduct effective commercial discussions and advance partnerships.
- Commercial acumen including an understanding of deal structures, pricing strategies, and key success factors for partnerships.
- Proficiency in managing data, using dashboards, trackers, and pipeline tools effectively.
- Strong communication skills suitable for partner-facing interactions and internal coordination.
- Familiarity and comfort with utilizing AI tools in daily work processes.
- Willingness to undertake regional travel as required.
- Knowledge of the Southeast Asian market is an advantage, coupled with adaptability, problem-solving mindset, and drive.
