Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a commercially focused Business Controller - Commerce to collaborate with our Traditional Sales team, enhancing decision-making processes that promote profitable growth. Reporting to the Business Control Manager - Commerce, you will deliver financial insights, analysis, and decision support aimed at optimizing revenue, gross margin, and commercial results.
In close partnership with Sales, Finance, and other key teams, you will assist with planning, forecasting, reporting, and commercial decision-making while maintaining robust financial controls and fostering continuous business improvements.
Responsibilities
- Generate financial reports and analyses to support commercial performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with Sales teams to boost profitable revenue and margin growth.
- Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and strategic business planning.
- Conduct pricing, promotional, and customer profitability analyses.
- Perform financial evaluation and modeling to facilitate business decisions.
- Support innovation initiatives through financial analysis and post-launch assessments.
- Ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and timely completion of month-end activities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve business processes.
- Enhance commercial capabilities within the sales function through financial insights and data assistance.
Requirements
- Formal tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in commercial finance, business partnering, or financial analysis.
- Strong commercial insight coupled with analytical prowess.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting tools and methods.
- Adept at interpreting data and translating findings into actionable steps.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Experience in the FMCG industry is advantageous.
