Role Overview
We are looking for a forward-thinking and analytical Business Continuity Manager to spearhead the development and maintenance of business continuity planning, risk evaluation, preparedness efforts, and organizational resilience activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and refine policies, plans, procedures, and frameworks related to business continuity.
- Oversee business continuity management efforts across various departments.
- Perform business impact analyses to determine critical processes, systems, resources, and their interdependencies.
- Assist with operational risk evaluations and identify possible disruption scenarios.
- Formulate continuity strategies and recovery plans tailored to essential business functions.
- Organize and lead business continuity drills, simulations, tabletop exercises, and testing events.
- Keep all business continuity documentation, contact details, recovery protocols, and escalation plans current.
- Collaborate closely with IT, Security, Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, Compliance, and Management departments.
- Support disaster recovery plans and coordinate with relevant technology groups.
- Monitor new and emerging risks and evaluate their potential effects on operations.
- Participate in incident and crisis management when continuity plans are activated.
- Keep track of continuity-related risks, findings, corrective actions, and remediation efforts.
- Compile and present business continuity reports, risk overviews, dashboards, and updates to management.
- Analyze lessons learned from exercises, incidents, and interruptions to improve processes.
- Follow up on corrective actions and track implementation of resilience enhancements.
- Conduct awareness programs and provide guidance on business continuity procedures for employees.
- Maintain registers, process documents, and recovery requirements related to continuity.
- Support internal and external audits, assessments, and compliance checks.
- Liaise with external consultants, vendors, and business continuity partners when necessary.
- Identify initiatives to bolster organizational resilience, recovery capacity, and operational preparedness.
Requirements
- Preferably hold a bachelor's degree in Business Continuity, Risk Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, IT, Security, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in business continuity, risk management, disaster recovery, crisis management, operations, or similar areas.
- Experience with preparing continuity plans, business impact and risk assessments, or recovery protocols is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of business continuity, operational resilience, risk principles, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and project coordination capabilities.
- Competent in evaluating business risks and crafting practical continuity measures.
- Proficient documentation and report creation skills.
- Familiarity with business continuity standards like ISO 22301 is an asset.
- Good grasp of critical processes, dependencies, recovery needs, and escalation methods.
- Strong ability to manage stakeholder relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Adept at handling multiple projects, deadlines, and continuity programs simultaneously.
- Comfortable using spreadsheets, presentations, risk registers, and continuity-related software tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and with diverse international teams.
- Proficient in written and verbal English communication.
- Experience in UAE or the GCC region is a plus but not required.
