About the Role
Language & Literacy Academy for Learning, Inc., located in Winter Haven, FL, is hiring a full-time Bus Attendant committed to the safety and care of its students during transportation. This position operates on a split shift schedule and plays a vital role in ensuring student welfare throughout their daily transit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the bus driver and adhere strictly to all safety protocols.
- Help students board the bus, secure them safely during travel, and assist with unloading and street crossing procedures.
- Monitor student behavior to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
- Handle tasks such as opening and closing the lift door and performing routine duties to support student safety and comfort.
Qualifications and Preferences
- Must have a high school diploma.
- CPR certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience working with students who have disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Successful candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Schedule and Compensation
- Work hours are split between 5:00 AM - 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
- Compensation is competitive at $15.50 per hour.
