Job description
Job Overview
The Batcher II role in Allentown, PA involves preparing and blending ingredients to produce finished syrup for the company's beverage products, while upholding high safety and quality standards. This position supports manufacturing process compliance and improvement initiatives in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time job with 12-hour shifts from 6:00am to 6:00pm following a 2-2-3 rotation. Candidates must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by consistently demonstrating safe conduct
- Assist in enhancing quality systems and policies such as Quality Data Systems, Safe Quality Food, GMP, and HACCP
- Coordinate with production team members to ensure continuous syrup supply to production lines
- Mix and blend ingredients to produce required batches of syrup
- Operate batching equipment safely and efficiently, including setup and cleaning
- Perform quality checks and maintain accurate records to guarantee food safety
- Manage ingredient inventory and handle receipt of sugar supplies
- Contribute ideas for productivity and process improvements

Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay at $27.43 per hour, increasing to $28.91 per hour after six months

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Motivated learner with a willingness to understand production equipment; mechanical aptitude and prior food manufacturing experience are advantageous
- Ability to safely operate forklifts around people after training
- Self-driven team player capable of decision-making, communication, problem-solving, and flexibility
- Comfortable using basic computer functions and quick to learn production software
- Basic math skills suitable for performing production-related calculations
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Capability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, stretch, kneel, squat, climb stairs or ladders, stoop, twist, and reach overhead repetitively during shifts
- Willingness to work in varying temperature and humidity environments
