About the Role
Ravenport Resort is seeking a skilled and experienced Bar Tender to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with outstanding oral and written communication abilities. Prior experience of one to two years in a comparable bar position is required. The candidate must be adaptable to working varied shifts including late evenings, midweek, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guests with a warm, friendly welcome throughout the hotel and service areas and assist in greeting and seating guests when appropriate.
- Deliver superior guest service across all areas, consistently meeting the established 4-star standards.
- Proactively anticipate guests' needs and provide assistance, paying careful attention to details.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of department operations, including opening hours, menus, beverages, and pricing.
- Take orders promptly and accurately while being aware of allergen information, dietary concerns, and product details.
- Communicate effectively to ensure the expected service quality is met.
- Recommend and upsell menu items, wines, and beverages to promote sales within the hotel.
- Ensure all glassware and tableware are polished; salt and pepper containers cleaned and refilled; tables and chairs disinfected and cleaned; and menus cleaned before service or seating guests.
- Maintain spotless service areas after service by emptying bins, mopping or vacuuming floors, removing and storing dirty linen correctly, and cleaning glass surfaces.
- Keep countertops, tabletops, furniture bases, and furniture clean at all times.
- Ensure immaculate service areas for weddings, events, guests, and viewing appointments.
- Stay informed about all hotel facilities.
- Address issues and complaints promptly and communicate them to supervisors or managers.
- Leave sufficient stock or mise en place for the next shift.
