About the Role
Hyatt Regency Sydney is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bar Team Leader to join its team in Australia’s largest premium hotel, featuring 878 guestrooms, multiple dining options, and extensive event spaces including two ballrooms overlooking Darling Harbour and 22 additional meeting rooms.
Work Environment
The role involves leading bar teams at iconic venues within the hotel including Dundee Arms, Sydney’s historic pub known for classic pub fare and atmosphere, and the Lobby Lounge, an intimate and elegantly casual space inspired by the nearby harbour.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the bar team to deliver excellent service and ensure high standards.
- Collaborate with the Bar Manager to optimize profitability while minimizing costs.
- Maintain strong product knowledge, particularly in classic and signature cocktails.
- Support the team to perform well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience working behind the bar and on the floor in similar hospitality settings.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop bar team members.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cocktail preparation and presentation.
- Capability to provide professional and courteous customer service consistently.
- Excellent grooming and professional presentation standards.
- Strong communication skills.
- Full working rights in Australia and current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
- Availability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends on rotating rosters.
