Position Overview

Working as a Bakery Associate at Walmart Canada provides an opportunity to develop retail and customer service skills. The role involves maintaining bakery product quality, servicing customers with excellence, stocking merchandise, and ensuring a clean, well-organized bakery department.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards for the appearance and quality of bakery items such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Ensure the bakery department is fully stocked and ready for business each day.
• Make sure all bakery goods are appropriately signed and priced clearly.
• Follow Walmart’s policies on cold chain management, including thermometer calibrations, temperature logging, food handling, product rotation, and monitor sell-by and expiration dates.
• Adhere strictly to food safety protocols, sanitation, and cleaning practices within the bakery area.
• Carry out proper procedures for ordering stock, clearance sales, price markups and markdowns, and labeling/signing.
• Prepare bakery items by following precise thawing and baking instructions to ensure freshness and visual appeal.
• Securely arrange bakery displays to guarantee safety and proper merchandising.

Additional Details and Compensation
