Backend Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer responsible for designing and developing the backend services that power our products. This role primarily focuses on creating APIs, managing data systems, and making infrastructure decisions that enhance the product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services, APIs, and data systems aligned with product needs.
• Model data effectively and develop scalable APIs.
• Produce clean, well-tested code while making thoughtful architectural decisions.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance and reliability challenges.
• Conduct code reviews and influence architectural choices.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, infrastructure, and product teams.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 3 years experience in developing production backend systems.
• Strong expertise in at least one server-side programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or Node.js.
• Good understanding of both relational and non-relational database technologies.
• Experience designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid foundation in system design principles.
