About The Role

We invite you to assume the role of Senior Audit Manager within ANZ’s Internal Audit department, supporting the integrity of New Zealand’s financial sector as part of the country’s largest bank and private fund manager. This senior role involves delivering strategic, risk-based assurance to the Board Audit Committee, utilizing advanced digital audit tools and data analytics to uphold superior audit standards.

You will lead high-performing teams, managing audits across technology areas such as cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and major transformation initiatives. The position provides significant commercial exposure and professional development, allowing you to deepen expertise in assurance and risk management, engage with senior leadership throughout New Zealand and the Pacific, and collaborate internationally across Australia, India, Europe, and beyond.

Typical Responsibilities

• Lead and execute technology-focused audits involving critical IT platforms, infrastructure, cybersecurity measures, applications, and significant transformation projects.
• Evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of IT controls to detect risks, enhance governance, and optimize business outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior Technology, Risk, and Business stakeholders to provide independent, risk-centric assurance and trusted strategic advice.
• Leverage data analytics and digital auditing tools to heighten audit quality, identify patterns, and deliver actionable insights.
• Produce clear and concise audit reports outlining key risks, root causes, and feasible recommendations.
• Mentor and support audit team members, contributing to continuous improvement of ANZ's Internal Audit methodologies and practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience in technology assurance roles, preferably within professional services or related sectors.
• Proven history leading or performing complex technology audits across substantial platforms, application environments, IT infrastructure, or transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of technology controls and familiarity with environments including Windows, Active Directory, Unix, cloud platforms, and preferably mainframe systems.
• Expertise in evaluating application controls and technology risk within large, complex organizations.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence outcomes positively.
• Relevant tertiary degree and professional certification such as CISA (preferred), CIA, CA, or an equivalent credential, alongside exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
