Job description
Overview
This position is responsible for the accurate loading, unloading, inspection, and timely dispatch of products to customers or distribution centers. The role plays a vital part in supporting warehouse and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload trucks.
- Pick products and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Verify that the correct stock and quantities are loaded onto delivery vehicles.
- Apply FIFO (First-In, First-Out) stock rotation methods.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping in the dispatch zone.
- Perform quality inspections on products prior to dispatch.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and food safety guidelines.
- Be available to work shifts that may include overtime, weekends, and public holidays.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Grade 12 or NQF Level 4, or an equivalent qualification.
- Between one to two years of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or dispatch settings.
- Physical fitness sufficient to manage manual loading responsibilities.
- Attention to detail enabling accuracy in a fast-moving work environment.
- Effective teamwork and communication abilities.
