Join Aon’s expanding global insurance brokerage as a key player in the Professional Risks team based in Auckland. This role offers a competitive remuneration package and the chance to lead financial lines client portfolios with senior leadership responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities

As an Associate Director within the Professional Risks division, you will serve as the senior primary contact managing a portfolio of pivotal accounts. Your duties will include strategizing client risk and insurance programs, spearheading renewals, managing insurer negotiations, and aligning with Aon teams to deliver integrated solutions across Directors' & Officers' (D&O), Professional Indemnity/Errors & Omissions (PI/E&O), cyber, crime, and wider management liability products. Driving business growth will be critical through recognizing and converting new and expanded professional risk business opportunities, leading client presentations, devising go-to-market strategies, and working collaboratively across functions to tailor and present solutions.

The ideal candidate will have substantial technical expertise in financial lines alongside proven client leadership and business development success. You will have demonstrated experience managing complex client portfolios, possess a deep understanding of financial lines products including D&O, PI/E&O, and cyber, with advantageous knowledge in power and energy risks. You should be adept at formulating and executing risk and insurance strategies, leading renewal initiatives, and conducting negotiations with both local and international insurers. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary internal teams to implement integrated client-focused services, overseeing service delivery, resolving complex claims, and exhibiting polished communication skills suitable for senior and C-suite stakeholders is essential. A proactive sales orientation and entrepreneurial drive are vital, complemented by strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities, along with refined corporate written and spoken communication skills.

Qualifications and Compliance

Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) – General Insurance or an equivalent professional qualification within prescribed timeframes.
