Job Overview
Patanjali Foods Limited, a prominent Indian multinational FMCG company specializing in food products and a part of Patanjali Ayurved group, invites applications for the role of Assistant Manager at our Haldia facility. This position is centered on managing and optimizing packaging operations to ensure seamless production and dispatch workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement daily and shift-based packing schedules aligned with production targets and dispatch requirements.
- Supervise packing lines, including filling machines, sealing equipment, coding/printing, labeling, and secondary packaging processes.
- Ensure accuracy of SKUs, pack sizes, batch coding, MRP, manufacturing dates, and proper packaging materials at each packaging line.
- Maintain optimal packing efficiency, line productivity, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and reduce changeover time.
- Monitor consumption of packing materials, aiming to minimize wastage, oil leakage, incorrect filling, and reduce the need for rework.
- Collaborate effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Warehouse, and Dispatch departments to facilitate smooth operations.
- Adhere strictly to GMP, HACCP, food safety protocols, hygiene standards, and statutory and company policies.
- Lead 5S initiatives, maintain housekeeping standards, ensure workplace safety, encourage near-miss incident reporting, and manage corrective actions.
- Analyze machine downtimes and recurring faults, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Validate production reports, SAP data entries, packing reconciliations, and shift handover documentation for accuracy.
- Train and mentor supervisors, operators, and contract labor on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety, and quality norms.
- Assist in internal and customer audits, ensuring prompt resolution of observations and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production Engineering, Food Technology, or related disciplines (B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma).
- In-depth understanding of FMCG packing operations, particularly edible oil packaging.
- Experience with PLC and VFD based packing machinery and basic troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with leadership, communication, and team management proficiency.
- Familiar with ERP/SAP software and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
