Position Summary

The Assistant Manager, Guest Experience is an integral leader within the store team, accountable for delivering exceptional customer service daily. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, this role leads floor operations, develops and manages team members, fosters a sense of belonging, and drives a culture of growth. The focus is ensuring outstanding guest interactions aligned with lululemon’s values and strategic directions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a supportive, inclusive, and engaging team environment that celebrates diversity and encourages productivity and enjoyment.
  • Lead dynamically on the sales floor, identifying and responding to the needs of the business, team members, and guests.
  • Engage team members by clarifying how their individual contributions support store and organizational success.
  • Implement and cascade the Store Manager’s people vision effectively to the team using sound judgment.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to build diverse, high-performing teams that meet business goals.
  • Provide coaching and training to close skill gaps, sourcing relevant learning resources and utilizing existing development programs.
  • Manage ongoing performance review cycles, including giving direct feedback, recognizing achievements, documenting performance, and handling disciplinary actions or offboarding as required.
  • Ensure excellence in guest experiences by monitoring interactions, facilitating technical product education, and supporting daily store operations.
  • Respond to guest concerns and escalations promptly to resolve issues and maintain satisfaction.
  • Track store performance against goals, analyze metrics to identify gaps, and implement improvements in guest experience.
  • Manage inventory control by monitoring product levels, conducting accurate counts, minimizing shrinkage, and organizing stock deliveries consistent with visual merchandising strategies.
  • Coordinate efficient inventory receipt and processing to uphold operational standards.

Eligibility and Work Conditions

  • Legal authorization to work in the store’s country is required.
  • Reliable transportation to the assigned store is necessary.
  • Full-time (38 hours per week) with varying schedules based on roster, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Schedule flexibility may be needed during peak periods and special events, with possible early mornings or overnight shifts.
  • The working environment includes bright lighting, loud music, teamwork and independent tasks, and use of technology.
  • Physical demands include occasional lifting of items up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum one year of experience managing people.
  • At least one year in leadership roles involving business operations, administration, projects, or process management.
  • Preferred: high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Desirable: one year retail or sales management experience.
  • Desirable: experience with recruiting, hiring, or training staff.
