Role Overview
As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operation of a single Panda Express store. Your duties include overseeing associate hiring, management, and direction to meet financial targets while ensuring exceptional guest service. You will receive comprehensive paid leadership training lasting three or more weeks, along with ongoing mentorship and support to prepare you for success and advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations effectively
- Recruit, hire, and supervise store associates
- Guide and motivate team members to achieve financial and guest experience goals
- Maintain high standards of food safety and service quality
- Adapt to and support flexible store schedules, including opening, closing, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
- Flexibility to relocate within 50 miles from your home to other stores if necessary
- ServSafe certification in food safety required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to manage conflict and challenging situations effectively
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, handle kitchen tools including Chinese cook knives, and work in environments with high heat and noise levels
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The role requires standing for up to four hours, operating in areas with steam and food vapors, and performing tasks in confined workspaces. You must be capable of physical exertion such as lifting heavy items and reaching across counters. The kitchen environment can be hot and noisy with limited storage space.
