Assistant Loss Prevention Manager

About the Role

The Assistant Loss Prevention Manager will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of a property by actively patrolling all areas, securing rooms, and assisting guests with access. The role involves conducting emergency drills, physical safety inspections, thorough investigations, keeping key control audits, monitoring surveillance and alarm systems, and authorizing access to secured locations. Additionally, the position requires responding effectively to emergencies, administering first aid or CPR as needed, handling disturbances in accordance with company policies, and escorting unwelcome individuals from the property. The role demands strict adherence to alcoholic beverage control laws and maintaining confidentiality of reports and sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in constant property patrols and ensure room security.
• Conduct emergency response drills, physical hazard inspections, investigations, and key control audits.
• Monitor CCTV footage and alarm systems vigilantly.
• Authorize and document access to restricted areas.
• Assist guests and employees during emergency scenarios and respond to accidents by contacting EMS or performing first aid/CPR.
• Handle disturbance situations by following company policies and procedures.
• Escort unauthorized persons off the premises as required.
• Ensure strict compliance with alcohol control regulations.
• Use proper communication codes to call for assistance and provide necessary documentation to employees.
• Maintain confidentiality of reports and release information only to authorized personnel.
• Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching staff, championing the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
• Uphold the company’s policies, report unsafe conditions, complete safety trainings, and maintain a professional appearance.
• Deliver excellent guest service by warmly welcoming guests, anticipating their needs, and communicating professionally.
• Develop positive workplace relationships, support team objectives, and respond appropriately to colleagues’ concerns.
• Adhere to quality standards and ensure all job duties are completed efficiently. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Physical and Operational Requirements

• Read and verify information in various formats, including small print.
• Visually inspect equipment or tools to identify defects or safety hazards.
• Use computers and point-of-sale systems to access work-related data.
• Perform physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, running, and moving over uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and heavier items with assistance.
• Navigate tight or elevated spaces and stairs.
• Perform complex hand-eye coordination tasks involving grasping, turning, and manipulating objects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in loss prevention or security roles.
• At least 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity.
• No additional licensing or certification required, though some state-specific requirements may apply.
