Role Overview
The Assistant IT Manager supports the IT Manager in maintaining the reliability, security, and innovative growth of IT systems essential to Red Sea Global Hospitality. This role is vital in supervising network infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and end-user support to ensure seamless technology performance that enhances both operational efficiency and guest satisfaction in a luxury hospitality context.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the high availability and effective operation of IT infrastructure including servers, networks, cloud services, and hospitality-specific applications.
- Administer enterprise network systems with a focus on FortiGate firewalls and Aruba wireless technologies, guaranteeing secure segmentation, fault tolerance, and consistent service quality.
- Manage Microsoft platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, and Intune to provision devices and maintain security and compliance.
- Monitor system performance proactively and resolve any outages promptly to minimize impact on guests and operations.
- Implement robust data protection via regular backups, disaster recovery plans, and tailored cybersecurity strategies.
- Enhance guest experience through optimized management of high-speed Wi-Fi, smart room controls, mobile concierge apps, IPTV, and digital key systems.
- Collaborate with hotel departments to integrate technology that improves service delivery in front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and spa operations.
- Troubleshoot audiovisual systems, digital signage, and conference technology ensuring flawless execution of events and VIP experiences.
- Lead and mentor IT support teams to deliver exceptional internal and external service aligned with hospitality standards.
- Oversee the IT helpdesk, ensuring timely and courteous resolution of technical issues for staff and guests.
- Support hospitality-specific IT projects, including PMS upgrades, POS integrations, and IoT deployments, coordinating with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables ensuring alignment with brand and operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with hospitality regulations like PCI-DSS, GDPR, and PDPA, leveraging Microsoft Defender and security tools for threat management and monitoring.
- Maintain thorough IT documentation including system designs, policies, contracts, and audit records.
- Conduct periodic security checks and vulnerability assessments to protect data and ensure business continuity.
- Advocate sustainable IT practices such as low-energy equipment, cloud solutions, and paperless processes, recommending innovative technologies like AI and smart energy systems to support eco-conscious goals.
- Utilize analytics to identify opportunities to optimize resource usage and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Preferably experienced in hospitality, tourism, or luxury retail sectors.
- Proven skills managing IT systems in luxury or multi-property resort environments.
- Hands-on expertise with FortiGate firewalls and Aruba switching/wireless systems including configuration and segmentation.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies: Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft Defender.
- Certifications such as Fortinet NSE, Aruba ACMA/ACMP, Microsoft AZ-104 or SC-200 are advantageous.
- Familiar with hospitality-centric platforms like Opera PMS, Micros POS, and Salesforce CRM.
