Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Engineer with expertise in Electrical Maintenance to join our team responsible for supporting the operation and upkeep of power supply and distribution systems across North-East Line stations and depot.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance activities related to Power Supply and Distribution Systems equipment.
- Evaluate design drawings and technical documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Support procurement processes for essential tools and spare parts critical to system operation.
- Engage in testing and commissioning phases for power distribution equipment.
- Contribute to the creation and rollout of a cost-efficient, comprehensive maintenance program.
- Supervise Preventive and Corrective Maintenance tasks performed by outsourced contractors and internal staff.
- Track and analyze system performance using Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) metrics.
- Investigate hardware and software issues, documenting findings for the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
- Coordinate testing and implementation of system modifications, both internally initiated and directed by regulatory authorities.
- Ensure adherence to quality systems across all relevant operations.
- Review and authorize contractors' preventive maintenance schedules and staffing requirements.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to new in-house employees.
- Maintain rigorous fault reporting and documentation standards among staff and contractors.
- Update and improve work instruction processes for better operational efficiency.
- Assist in personnel matters including hiring, disciplinary actions, and performance assessments.
- Support asset management planning and budgeting efforts guided by the Section Head.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma from a Polytechnic in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Clean Energy, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- At least 2 years of practical experience in electrical maintenance.
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative team player mindset.
- Resourceful, self-driven, and results-oriented approach to work.
- Willingness and ability to work in a rotating 3-shift schedule.
- Capability to accurately identify colors (color vision).
