Job description

Position Overview

I-MED Radiology Network seeks an experienced Clinical Leader registered with MRTB to serve as Area Manager for the Waikato region, overseeing multiple clinics in Hamilton and surrounding areas including services at Braemar private hospital. This senior leadership role involves operational, clinical, and technical supervision across Waikato's radiology services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Waikato Charge Modality Managers to achieve targets in operations, clinical care, and people management.
  • Provide clinical and technical leadership for Waikato’s imaging clinics and modalities.
  • Develop leadership capabilities within the Charge Modality Manager team, emphasizing accountability, coaching, and continuous growth.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Manager to address regional priorities, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support workforce planning, scheduling, leave management, and resource allocation through modality managers.
  • Partner with clinical, administration, and radiology stakeholders to optimize clinic throughput and patient experience.
  • Encourage collaboration and standardization across clinics and modalities.
  • Maintain an active clinical role within your registered modality to stay engaged with frontline service.
  • Oversee recruitment, retention, professional development, and succession planning efforts.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance aligning with regional goals.
  • Promote adherence to quality, accreditation, safety, and clinical governance standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with clinics, hospitals, referrers, and the wider I-MED network.
  • Travel between Waikato clinics as necessary to support regional operations.

Candidate Profile

  • Registered Medical Imaging Technologist or Sonographer with current MRTB registration and Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
  • Extensive clinical and technical expertise in your modality.
  • Proven leadership experience, particularly in managing multi-site healthcare or medical imaging teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong influence, coaching, and team leadership abilities across multiple locations.
  • Effective problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, quality improvement, and culturally safe inclusive practices.
  • Possession of a full driver's license.
