About the Role
An established design-focused practice in Aberdeen is seeking a skilled Architectural Technologist or Technician with significant experience to join their collaborative team. This is a valuable opportunity for a professional with five or more years of post-qualification experience who thrives on project ownership, resolving technical challenges, and translating quality design into well-executed built environments.
Key Responsibilities
You will engage in a diverse range of projects including commercial, workplace, and refurbishment schemes. Your involvement will span from initial design stages through technical development, securing approvals, and supporting construction activities. Responsibilities include preparing precise drawing packages, coordinating efforts with consultants and contractors, and ensuring compliance with pertinent technical standards, regulations, and client briefs.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is self-reliant, able to manage their workload independently, communicate effectively with broader project teams, and proactively identify potential risks to prevent costly issues. While autonomy is essential, you will be part of an experienced and approachable team that promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and delivering high-quality work.
Qualifications and Experience
- A recognised qualification in Architectural Technology or a closely related field.
- Minimum of five years post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical detailing and in-depth knowledge of construction methods.
- Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and specific expertise with Scottish planning and warrant procedures.
- Proficiency in producing coordinated technical documentation using industry-standard design software.

Desirable Experience
Experience in commercial interiors, office fit-outs, refurbishment, or workplace projects will be advantageous; however, candidates from other relevant architectural technical backgrounds will also be considered.
