Applications Engineer - Quick Opening Closures

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Applications Engineer to oversee the entire lifecycle of the Quick Opening Closures (QOC) product line. This role involves application engineering, preparing proposals, and providing technical support. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and customers to deliver technical solutions, recommend products, and provide timely quotations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze customer inquiries and technical specifications related to the Quick Opening Closures product range.
• Develop accurate, timely techno-commercial proposals leveraging internal systems and processes.
• Conduct QOC identification and wall thickness calculations adhering to standards such as ASME SEC VIII DIV 1 & 2, ASME B31.8, and B31.4.
• Manage proposals from initiation to closure, maintaining quotation records and tracking via CRM.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure on-schedule and compliant quotations.
• Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and other stakeholders.
• Examine and interpret contract requirements to guarantee alignment with customer demands and company policies.
• Support order execution by ensuring clear documentation and communication with customers.
• Identify and address risks throughout proposal and order processing stages.
• Travel to customer sites, vendor locations, and manufacturing facilities as needed.
• Champion and comply with safety, ethical standards, and compliance regulations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Comprehensive technical knowledge of pressure-containing equipment, particularly Quick Opening Closures, pressure vessels, or pipeline apparatus.
• Familiarity with engineering standards including ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.4, B31.8, ASTM B16.5, B16.34, and ASTM material grades.
• Background in technical proposal creation and direct customer engagement.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and product datasheets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities paired with effective communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

Education and Experience Requirements

• 5 to 8 years' experience in application engineering, proposals, or technical sales support roles.
• Previous exposure to Quick Opening Closures, pressure vessels, and scrapper traps.
• Experience engaging with customers or end users within the MENA region.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering.
• Willingness and ability to travel regionally and internationally.
• A customer-centric approach with the capacity to collaborate within cross-functional teams.
