Join Motion Asia Pacific as a national Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in sealing technologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the national SME for mechanical seals, gaskets, and fluid control components, providing expert technical guidance.
  • Analyze operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, media type, and shaft speed to ensure optimal product selection and engineered solutions.
  • Lead complex quotation processes and support nationwide projects, including conducting failure and root cause analyses.
  • Ensure all technical solutions comply with supplier standards and industry best practices.
  • Deliver cross-divisional technical sales assistance, engaging in joint visits with sales teams including SAMs, CAMs, RSMs, BDMs, and Sales Engineers.
  • Identify opportunities for product conversions, upgrades, and value-based solutions to increase revenue and profit margins.
  • Design and provide structured technical training to build sealing expertise at a national level.
  • Generate and update technical documentation, application guides, and mentor sales teams on solution-based selling strategies.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and suppliers regarding portfolio alignment, new product launches, quality control, and market feedback.
  • Support governance initiatives focusing on continuous improvement processes, warranty reviews, standardization, compliance, and operational excellence.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Technical proficiency in sealing products, pump systems, and rotating machinery, with a background in application engineering, technical sales, or MRO/industrial distribution.
  • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge including interpretation of technical drawings and specifications; qualifications in mechanical engineering or trades are advantageous, as is CAD experience.
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical seals, sealing systems, gasket materials, pump fundamentals, and supplier engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver technical training, effective communication skills, and capacity to work well both independently and within teams.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, with strong problem-solving and time management abilities; able to perform effectively under pressure and maintain a commitment to Health & Safety standards.
  • Proficiency in business systems and related tools.
  • Collaborative team player attitude.
