About the Role

This position is based in Galway and offers a hybrid work model requiring attendance in the office three days per week. The role is part of Cisco's Collaboration organization, which focuses on creating innovative solutions to enable seamless connections between people, places, and experiences through advanced technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage AI Ops automation specifically for security operations, adapting AI functionalities using production data and continuous feedback.
  • Develop monitoring and observability tools to identify security threats in real time.
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines embedded with security and compliance measures.
  • Architect, maintain, and harden security controls across both software and infrastructure layers.
  • Lead security assessments and compliance testing aligned with frameworks such as SOC 2, FedRAMP, and ISO 27001.
  • Oversee incident response procedures and effectively mitigate risks associated with AI Ops platforms.
  • Facilitate migration and integration of AI Ops platforms with existing systems whilst setting security requirements and producing performance metrics.
  • Contribute to threat modeling activities targeting AI-related security risks.
  • Develop and review automation and detection scripts to enhance security operations.
  • Act as a senior technical leader by mentoring junior engineers and guiding design discussions to uphold reliability, observability, and security by design principles.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 4 years of related experience, or a PhD with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Strong conceptual understanding and practical expertise in AI Ops, site reliability engineering, or managing AI-powered production systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of security engineering practices spanning diverse technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience in managing platforms such as Cisco XDR, Splunk SIEM, and SOAR, including creation of automated detection and response playbooks.
  • Proven history applying AI and automation in vulnerability management and incident response workflows, including triage, prioritization, containment, and post-incident analysis on a large scale.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI platforms and interoperability standards like AGNTCY, Agent Name Service (ANS), Agent-to-Agent (A2A), and Agent Connect Protocol (ACP), plus experience with agents like Amazon Bedrock Agents, AgentCore, and frameworks such as LangGraph or OpenAI Agents SDK.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP by ISC2 or Cisco CCNP Security / CyberOps Professional.
