Position Overview
The Agent - Purchasing at Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Makkah is responsible for managing food inventory figures, orders, and cost calculations. This role ensures all reports and invoices are precisely documented and stored. The individual processes invoices via computer systems and conducts thorough inventory audits to monitor stock levels and requisition supplies as necessary. Strict adherence to food safety and handling protocols is required across all related areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate and track figures related to food inventory, orders, and expenses.
- Maintain organized records, ensuring proper filing of invoices and reports.
- Post and manage invoices using computer applications.
- Perform audits to assess inventory levels and identify supply requirements.
- Complete requisition forms for inventory and communicate low stock alerts to supervisors.
- Verify and track received stock, preparing detailed inventory reports and logs.
- Reconcile shipping invoices with receiving documentation to guarantee accuracy.
- Accept deliveries, unload goods, and process incoming items; reject damaged or incorrect items.
- Resolve vendor delivery issues and oversee returns process.
- Monitor PAR levels to maintain appropriate food item quantities.
- Report workplace accidents or unsafe conditions and complete required safety training.
- Adhere to company policies, maintain professional appearance, and protect company property.
- Communicate effectively and maintain positive relations with colleagues to support team goals.
- Comply with quality assurance standards and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking for extended periods, and handling objects up to 50 pounds.
- Work in various physical environments including narrow or uneven spaces and perform bending, twisting, and stooping movements.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education of high school diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant work experience in procurement or purchasing.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No licenses or certifications mandated.
