Role Overview

The position of Advisor I - HSSE at our Fabrication Yard involves ensuring adherence to health, safety, security, and environmental standards across operations. This role is integral to implementing and promoting HSE policies and fostering awareness to mitigate risks effectively.

Key Duties

• Contribute to development of health and safety plans aligning with company policies and client expectations.
• Coordinate and implement training sessions, toolbox talks, drills, and emergency response exercises as part of the comprehensive HSE program.
• Investigate accidents thoroughly, oversee closure of Accident Investigation Reports, and disseminate lessons learned to management.
• Supervise daily HSE activities within allocated responsibilities, aiding in the rollout of HSE components.
• Support creation of project-specific HSE procedures to enhance safety compliance.
• Conduct safety training and orientation for new hires.
• Apply hazard identification and risk evaluation to assigned areas and enforce control measures to minimize risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
• Communicate HSE requirements effectively to all relevant personnel and verify compliance through meetings, inspections, monitoring, and audits.
• Participate actively in HSE awareness initiatives and campaigns.
• Engage completely in compliance audits, performance reviews, and inspections.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree (4 years) or Diploma (3 years) from an accredited institution.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Certified Lead or Internal Auditor for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• At least five years of experience in HSE roles, including a minimum of one year in construction, fabrication, installation, or commissioning projects within oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in developing and applying HSSE and welfare plans, emergency response procedures, and site-specific HSSE instructions.
• Hands-on experience with Safe System of Work implementation including permits to work, work method statements, and risk assessments.
• Familiarity with H2S control methods.
• Capability to perform HSE inspections effectively.
• Competence in incident reporting and investigation procedures.
• Strong English language communication skills including reading, writing, and speaking.
