Role Summary
This role involves independently overseeing the local finance, accounting, bookkeeping, tax, and compliance operations for the Riyadh office. The position requires hands-on management of day-to-day accounting activities such as maintaining the general ledger, bookkeeping, vendor payments, month-end closing, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The manager ensures these tasks comply with GT's global finance standards and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage locally the finance, accounting, bookkeeping, tax, auditing, and compliance processes.
- Maintain precise accounting records including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and oversight of payables and receivables.
- Prepare and file local tax and regulatory submissions such as Tax/VAT, WHT, ZATCA, GOSI, RHQ, and Ministry of Justice reports and documentation.
- Keep up to date with financial, tax, and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Act as the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, consultants, and government bodies, handling audits and inquiries.
- Optimize accounting processes, recordkeeping, and internal controls to uphold audit readiness and regulatory standards.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and monitor financial performance.
- Collaborate with U.S. Finance and Accounting teams to meet reporting standards and align with global policies.
- Provide financial and compliance assistance to local leadership and key personnel.
- Carry out additional finance, accounting, audit, compliance, and special assignments as necessary.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in audit, accounting practices, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven capacity to manage a local finance function while aligning with global requirements.
- Strong grasp of internal controls, audit preparation, compliance requirements, and financial reporting.
- Experience liaising effectively with auditors, consultants, government officials, and internal teams.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and bookkeeping.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in fast-moving environments.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral.
- Professional presence with the ability to engage senior leadership and external stakeholders appropriately.
- Fluent English required; Arabic language skills preferred.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, audit, and compliance roles.
- Preferred 4 to 5 years in an international audit firm in a managerial capacity.
- Proven experience executing audits, maintaining financial controls, ensuring accounting compliance, and handling regulatory reporting.
- Familiarity with Saudi Arabian statutory and regulatory obligations including Tax/VAT, WHT, ZATCA, GOSI, RHQ, and Ministry of Justice filings.
- Experience serving as the principal contact for internal and external audits, including planning, documentation, addressing regulatory reports, and resolving issues.
- Demonstrated ability to operate an independent local finance function while working with regional or global finance teams.
Technology Proficiencies
- Experience with ZATCA systems, Etimad Portal, and ERP software preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity and responsible use of AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to support professional and managerial tasks, ensuring critical evaluation of outputs and personal accountability.
- Promotes adoption of AI technologies with emphasis on privacy, confidentiality, and human oversight.
Additional Information
This role is based onsite in our Riyadh office. Preference will be given to Saudi Nationals, though it is not mandatory. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
