Role Overview
As an Account Manager focusing on Retail & Shopper, your role involves guiding clients through evolving shopper behaviors and market trends to assist in confident, data-backed business decisions. You will manage client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and design research approaches targeting critical client questions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline by expanding existing client accounts, reestablishing lapsed relationships, and attracting new prospects.
- Lead discovery sessions to understand client priorities and translate them into clear research objectives.
- Create persuasive, commercially viable proposals, outlining scopes and pricing tailored to client needs.
- Oversee the delivery of research and insight projects ensuring they meet agreed timelines, budgets, scope, and quality standards.
- Interpret gathered evidence into coherent narratives and actionable recommendations to support client decision-making.
- Enhance account strategies to deepen client partnerships and foster opportunities for renewals, upselling, and cross-selling.
- Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members while disseminating retail and shopper expertise within the team.
Desired Skills & Capabilities
- Strong command of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies applicable to retail measurement and shopper insights, with the ability to select appropriate methods for diverse client challenges.
- Insightful interpretation of retail, FMCG, and shopper behavior trends to generate relevant client discussions and business opportunity hypotheses.
- Proven experience in managing client accounts, developing research proposals, pricing projects competitively, and securing profitable engagements.
- Ability to distill complex data into concise presentations, recommendations, and proposals tailored to diverse client audiences.
- Competence in managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring scope adherence, financial health, early issue resolution, and promoting professional development within teams.
