Job description
About The Role
This full-time position involves approximately 40 hours per week, alternating between Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday shifts. The primary responsibility is to manage traffic marshalling functions, supporting the front-of-house and Weighbridge operations to maintain a positive image. The role acts as the main contact point for contractors and visitors, ensuring compliance with company procedures and Health and Safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Record detailed driver information such as inductions, company affiliations, and loads.
- Verify that all drivers have current swipe cards; direct those without to complete inductions at the main site reception.
- Coordinate with the client’s Sundries Weighbridge for scheduling loadings.
- Prevent extended waiting times for drivers in holding areas.
- Ensure all drivers wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Manage traffic flow during peak times at the Sundries Weighbridge.
- Collaborate with the Security Supervisor to arrange coverage during absences.
- Support the site team during major incidents following emergency and business continuity protocols.
- Participate in regular Toolbox Talks and maintain professional communication across all organizational levels.
- Consistently demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment, delivering a professional service to both company and client.
- Maintain accurate shift handover communication verbally and through documentation with supervisors and relevant personnel.
- Adhere strictly to statutory compliance procedures and company Health & Safety policies.
- Complete all necessary paperwork efficiently and within stipulated timeframes.
- Attend training sessions as required and ensure appropriate PPE usage at all times.
- Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the Weighbridge and Security areas to high standards.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as requested by management.

- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make firm, timely decisions.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build positive customer relationships.
- Experience operating hand-held radios is beneficial.
