Role Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Global Insurance Platform team, you will develop and enhance CG Admin, the internal platform facilitating how Cover Genius configures and manages insurance products at scale for worldwide partners such as Booking.com, Skyscanner, and Ryanair. This platform consolidates product setup, pricing, underwriting rules, and policy lifecycle management where accuracy and dependability critically impact live insurance policies and financial outcomes.

Our development approach emphasizes AI-first methodologies. You'll embed agentic AI tools like Claude Code and Gemini deeply into your workflow to amplify productivity. You will play a pivotal role in shaping AI integration into our software engineering processes, covering code generation, quality assurance, and documentation, defining AI-augmented engineering practices at Cover Genius.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement features within CG Admin, improving configuration workflows and backend services to enable safe, efficient, and repeatable insurance product setup.
• Employ AI tools such as Claude Code and Gemini as essential development accelerators, devising prompt strategies and workflows that enhance output.
• End-to-end ownership of sophisticated platform components ensuring rapid delivery while maintaining system resilience critical for internal operational stability.
• Elevate technical standards via thorough code reviews and constructive design discussions; pioneer best practices in AI-augmented software development.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, operations, configuration teams, and platform users to translate their needs into effective tools.
• Mentor fellow engineers in adopting AI-centric development techniques, fostering team-wide efficiency improvements.
• Guarantee platform areas under your lead fulfill high standards of reliability, correctness, and observability, detecting and preventing errors before they affect live policies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in software engineering with proven success in delivering production-grade systems.
• Proficient and experienced in incorporating AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, or similar technologies into practical workflows beyond experimentation.
• Comprehensive understanding of large language models (LLMs) beyond their use for code generation.
• Extensive expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, with hands-on experience in frameworks such as NestJS; familiarity with React front-end development is advantageous.
• Adaptable polyglot developer comfortable learning new programming languages; experience with Python or PHP is beneficial.
• Demonstrated experience creating complex domain-focused applications such as internal platforms, admin tools, or configuration systems with an emphasis on correctness.
• Strong foundation in API design, microservices architectures, AWS cloud infrastructure, and container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases, data modeling techniques, and event-driven software design patterns.
• Capability to manage ambiguity effectively, having built systems evolving requirements during development.
• Excellent communication skills to document design decisions, author clear specifications, and influence stakeholders across engineering, product, and business teams.

• This role provides an annual base salary range between CAD 135,000 and CAD 175,000.
