Product Engineer

About the Role

infact.io, a London-based fintech firm and the UK's pioneer in real-time credit reporting, recently raised £4M in seed funding led by AlbionVC to modernize credit data using API-first infrastructure. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for building and managing Go microservices that power real-time B2B APIs hosted on AWS. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will take full ownership of features from design through to production, blending high-quality software engineering with a product-focused approach that reshapes how consumers access financial services via scalable cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain critical Go microservices within an AWS environment involving Fargate, Lambda, Aurora Postgres, and DynamoDB.
• Manage the complete feature development lifecycle, participating in design discussions and upholding robust code quality and design standards in production.
• Utilize AI development tools like Claude to enhance coding efficiency and quality while maintaining accountability for outcomes.

Candidate Profile

• Possesses 1 to 3 years of professional software development experience primarily using Go or equivalent project experience.
• Exhibits strong product intuition by prioritizing user-centered outcomes over task completion and constructively challenging ineffective designs.
• Has hands-on knowledge or strong interest in modern DevOps practices such as AWS infrastructure deployment, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines implemented through GitHub Actions.
