About the Role
We are seeking an experienced PHP Backend Developer to join our client’s team remotely on a contract basis. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining the backend services for high-traffic web applications, emphasizing performance, scalability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support PHP backend services and APIs powering web functionalities.
- Improve existing codebases for enhanced performance, security, and scalability.
- Work collaboratively with frontend teams to seamlessly integrate server-side logic with user interfaces.
- Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly documented PHP code adhering to industry standards.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues throughout the application stack including database and API layers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- At least 3 years of hands-on PHP development experience, proficient in PHP 7.x or 8.x versions.
- Experience working with PHP frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL database design and tuning.
- Practical experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Understanding of Linux/Unix server environments and deployment processes.
- Experience with caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached and background job handling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and capability to work independently in a remote setup.
